  • Place the original document print-side up into the document feeder.
  • Or, load the document print-side down on the scanner glass in the correct position.
  • Double-click on the printer icon. Or, do one of the following to launch the printer software.
  • If you are using Windows 8.1, click the down arrow on the Start screen and select the printer name.
  • If you are using Windows 8, right-click on the empty area on the Start screen. Click All Apps and then choose the printer name.
  • In case you are using Windows 7, click Start --> All Programs --> HP --> printer folder and then the printer name.
  • Choose Scan a Document or Photo in the printer software.
  • Choose your required scan shortcut and select More.
  • Within the Scan Pages section, choose two-sided and click OK.
  • Now, follow the instruction on the software to scan your document.

Note: This printer doesn’t support duplex scanning. So, the printer will scan the first side of the page and will instruct you to load the second side manually.
