Here are a few simple steps to ensure that the printer does not go into offline mode again.

  • Make sure that the HP printer is connected to the power source and is turned on.
  • See if there is a stable power source in your home or office. If not, wait it out and then see if the printer is online or offline.
  • Check for error messages like paper jams, paper feed, or replace the toner cartridge if necessary.

Start Print Spooler

  • Open the Run command (Windows key + R).
  • Type services.msc in the Run command field; press the Enter button.
  • The Windows Services window will now open.
  • Locate the Print Spooler service, perform a right-click, and select the Start option.

Configure Printer Properties

  • Open Control Panel.
  • Select the Devices and Printers option.
  • Select the HP OfficeJet 200 printer from the list.
  • Do a right-click on the printer and click the Printer Properties option.
  • Click the Ports tab and click the Configure Port button at the bottom-right corner.
  • Select the checkbox to uncheck SNMP Status Enabled.
  • Click the OK button to save changes.
  • Once the SNMP status is enabled, see if the HP OfficeJet printer status is online.

If the printer is going through some hardware issues, here are some steps that can help you get the printer back to working condition.

  • Ensure that the power cord is firmly connected to the printer.
  • If the printer is turned off, press the Power button to turn it on.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the printer.
  • Open the battery cover and then remove the battery from the rear end of the printer.
  • Remove the power cord from the main power source.
  • Wait for at least 20 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord back to the main power source and to the printer.
  • Turn on the printer in case it does not turn on automatically.
  • Place the battery back into the printer and the HP OfficeJet 200 printer will be reset.

Reset the router

Reconnect to the Wi-Fi network

  • Turn on your printer.
  • Press the Home button.
  • Wait for the control panel to open.
  • Select Network.
  • Go on to select Wireless Settings and then Wireless Setup Wizard.
  • The printer will now look for available networks (the wireless networks that are closer to the printer) and will display a list.
  • You can use the navigation arrow buttons on the printer to select your wireless network from the list.
  • Press the OK button.
  • The HP OfficeJet 200 printer will start to connect to the wireless network.
  • Once the wireless connection is successful, you will see a message indication.
  • Press the OK button to return to the Wireless Settings screen.

  • Click the OK button.

Firmware Update

Since it is an HP OfficeJet printer, the firmware update process is quite simple. With the help of the utility software called HP Smart app, you can do so.

Download HP Smart

  • Open the support page for the HP printer
  • Click the Software, Drivers and Firmware tab.
  • Click the Install button.
  • The HP Smart app will be downloaded to your computer.

Add HP printer to HP Smart HP Smart

  • Open the HP Smart app.
  • Click the + button to add the HP printer to HP Smart.
  • Complete the installation procedure.

Update Firmware

  • Click the Advanced tab.
  • Select Advanced Settings.

  • Remove the protective tape or film from the bottom of the cartridge.
  • Insert the new cartridge into its slot.
