  • Next, check whether the “Scan to Computer” option is enabled on your printer. If not, enable it. To check and enable this option, follow the instructions below.
  • Open the HP Printer Assistant on your computer.
  • Click the Scan tab followed by Manage.
  • Locate and enable the Scan to Computer option if it is disabled.

  • Enable the Wi-Fi Direct feature on your printer.

Scan To Email Not Working

The “unable to scan to email” problem is faced by many people. This problem mainly occurs due to the misconfigured “scan to email” settings. But, sometimes, it also occurs if your printer is not connected to the network.

So, initially, check to ensure that your printer is connected to the network. If not, connect it to the network and then try to perform the “scan to email” operation.

Configuring the “scan to email” settings

  • Initially, open the EWS page of your printer. 
  • To do so, open the browser on the computer which is connected to the internet.
  • In the search field, type the printer’s IP address. 
  • If you're unaware of your printer's IP address, tap the Wi-Fi icon on your printer’s control panel. 
  • Select Settings > Print Reports > Network Configuration Page. 
  • In the Network Configuration Page of your printer, you can find its IP address.
  • Now, go to the Scan tab.
  • Select Scan to Email Setup > Outgoing Email Profile > New.
  • Type the email address and your printer’s display name in the given fields.
  • Similarly, type the SMTP, security PIN, and other details in the given fields.
  • Finally, click Save.

Now, check if the “scan to email” feature is working by sending a test email of the scanned document.
