The HP OfficeJet 5252 printer has the AirPrint feature pre-installed on it. So, you don’t need to perform additional steps to connect your printer to the iOS device. Just connect both the devices (printer and iOS device) to the same Wi-Fi network, and print a test page via AirPrint.

Connecting your printer to a Wi-Fi network and printing a test page

  • Turn on your HP printer and the wireless router if they are turned off.
  • Now, tap on the Wi-Fi icon on the printer’s home screen.
  • Select Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard or Wi-Fi Protected Setup.
  • Connect your printer to the wireless network by following the on-screen instructions.
  • After connecting your printer to the Wi-Fi network, connect the iOS device to the same network and then open the document or photo that you want to print.
  • Tap the Share icon followed by the Print option.
  • Choose your HP printer from the list and configure the print settings.
  • Finally, tap the Print button again.


To print a document or file using the HP ePrint feature, first, check if the Web Service feature is enabled on your printer. If not, enable it. Make sure that the mobile phone that you’re using is connected to the internet and has an email-capable feature. 


As the first step of enabling the Web Services feature, connect your HP OfficeJet 5252 to the internet. After doing it, enable the Web Services feature using any one of the methods given below.

Method 1: Using the printer’s control panel

  • Open the Setup screen on your printer.
  • Tap Web Services > Yes. 
  • Now, your printer will automatically update the software (if available) and configure the Web Services settings on it.
  • Once it is done, the confirmation message will be displayed on the screen.
  • Tap the OK button and wait for the printer to print its Information page.

Method 2: Using the Embedded Web Server

  • Access your HP printer’s EWS page.
  • Click on the tab named “Web Services.”
  • Select Setup > Continue. 
  • Configure the Web Service settings by following the on-screen instructions.

Method 3: Using the printer software (Windows only)

  • Open the HP printer software.
  • Locate and double-click on the option named “Print, Scan & Fax.”
  • Go to the Print section.
  • Click the Connect Printer to the Web option.
  • Select Web Services > Continue.
  • Configure the Web Services settings by following the instructions displayed on the screen. 

Once the Web Service feature is configured on your printer, try to print a document using HP ePrint.

  • Open the email application on your smartphone.
  • Compose a new email message.
  • In the To field, enter your HP ePrint address. 
  • Attach a file or photo that you want to print. 
  • Finally, tap or click the Send button.
  • Now, if the printer prints the document, it means the HP ePrint setup is done correctly. Otherwise, re-perform the setup process. 


You can print a document from your cloud storage to the HP Officejet 5252 printer using the HP Smart app.

  • Initially, connect your printer and the smartphone to the same wireless network.
  • Secondly, install the HP Smart app on your smartphone.
  • Launch the app.
  • Select the Print option followed by Cloud.
  • Choose the document or image file that you want to print from your Cloud storage. 
  • Configure the print settings as per your preferences.
